She's heard this before where men try to act all tough when they are told they look nice. It didn't bother her but she was also going to remind him that it wasn't a bad thing. He needed to let his guard down a little and Gloria could only imagine what put those walls up to start with.
"For being a lesbian, too. Attraction to people of the same sex as you are is considered a disease still where I live." She tells the punk. It was an awful thing that existed in a lot of places unfortunately.
"It's better to check before it swells." Gloria knows he's going to resist but she's firm, if compassionate about making sure he's not injured in a way that needs more attention.
