Rik started toward Viktor again. "It doesn't matter what you were trying to do. It matters what actually happened. You almost caused me to die. You'd have worse shit on your plate if I hadn't survived."
Rik had thought about it, imagined the way Viktor's band could have blown up if his stunt had actually caused a death. Imagined Hunter beating him. He had thought about it in the time after he woke up terrified and he realized how close he was to dying.
He looked up the few inches between the two of them when Viktor got up in his space. There was blood trickling out of his mouth and he was tense, fists clenched to the point it felt like they were drawing blood. The words come cold and even more accented than usual.
"You think you're the only one who had it bad?" The coldness was back in the Dane's blue eyes. "You can't run away when you're eight and you're thrown across the room for a wrong note or know you're going to get beaten after every time you play in public. You just injure people and act like you've got the right to do it and take no responsibility. If I wanted to be around someone who didn't care if they killed me I would have stayed home with my parents."
Rik spit blood in Viktor's face and shoved him with all his strength. He wasn't going to punch him, not when he tried to get in his face and goad him into it.

Ziggy leans against Mick and shakes his head. "I don't know. Someone's getting hurt. I can feel it."
