She took a drink of vodka Viktor handed her and laughed quietly.
"You know what I mean." She teased. "You know how a man looks at a beautiful woman when she walks into the room where he can't look away? He just stares with a slack jaw and wide-eyed. You two do the same kind of thing when the other walks in the room."
His behavior only made her hold in laughter until her cheeks reddened while she knelt down to wrap his ankle.
"You could just say you like him." She can't hide the huge smile because she knew the talk from the men she ran with back home. "I can't blame you. He's got nice lips. I bet he's a good kisser."
It embarrassed her so much to say that but she was looking down at Viktor's ankle which made it easier to say. Viktor was always on someone else it only seemed fair to turn the tables, besides, she was curous if they were dating and just hiding it.
"I know what you mean, yeah. It's just I didn't know I looked at him like that. I'm not the only one who gives eyes to his bloke or girl. Ronno gives looks across the breakfast table to his girl and it looks like he wants to eat Ziggy instead of his cereal. The tarty drummer does the same to Hunter. Then Joe and his crazy Fin. Billy and his harp boy Dane too."
Everyone looked at their loved one differently and Viktor was often oblivious as to how his actions were portrayed through other people's eyes. He just thought of Vars as someone tough and hot. A buddy who liked to fight and was interested in fire too. Not as much as the Brit but he wasn't afraid to delve into hell with Viktor.
"Nice lips? To be honest I don't think we've even kissed yet. Biting and punching more. You reckon I should try to kiss him and see what happens?"
Viktor wondered about this because kissing seemed a bit pussy compared to the rough and tumble they'd been doing together. All the biting, shoving, punching and other macho stuff. Kissing though? It might feel nice. Who knew.
"He's yours?" She asks curiously because as far as she has seen they haven't interacted much yet outside of longing eyes and some harsh words, near scuffles. "He checks out your backside a lot."
She laughs over the glass before taking a drink.
"Everyone can see you find each other attractive. Do you want where that leads with him?" That was the logical question after what he had said.
"Mine? Well, he's my punk mate, yeah. If that's what you mean."
Viktor wasn't about to admit anything else to her, not now. The relationship was still very new and he was still testing it out, or testing Vars, to see if he would make a good boyfriend. Punk buddy? Lover sounded pussy. He shrugged at her comments and took a large slug of vodka.
"Yeah? Is that what people think? I don't give a shit what people think about who I like. None of their fucking business. No idea where it will lead but I like him."
This means he likes Vars but is too proud to admit it.
"I meant your boyfriend." She wasn't about to dance around the subject like the punk was but she could understand, maybe, the reluctance on some level. After all she had hid her relationship with Judith the same way.
"It's good you've found someone like you that you're mutually attracted to." She is not impressed with the attitude and half crosses her arms while drinking from the glass. "You do know that no one thinks less of either of you for thinking the other is attractive? I think they're more cheering for you to get together."
Especially the trashier ones. She had heard parts of conversations that were dirtier than being together.
The word "boyfriend" had Viktor staring at Gloria for a bit before snorting in amusement and taking a few large mouthfuls of booze. Was the punk his boyfriend? Punk buddy? Whatever it was Viktor liked it. He nodded slowly and then resigned himself to Gloria's words regarding their relationship since he couldn't argue.
"Yeah, it feels good. Someone who isn't afraid to get into a fight or act like a complete pussy. Vars is a strong bloke who's fucking handsome."
This was praise from the Brit would had gotten used to seeing and being around the Norwegian since their meeting at the bar.
She smiled behind the glass she was sipping from while watching Viktor's amusement.
"You're both good looking men." Gloria said with all seriousness. "So many punk girls are going to be in tears." She had to tease him a little over this because it was very charming to see such a tough man talk about love. It always came from such strange context.
"Thanks for saying so, love. If they are then so what? Vars is my bloke and they can weep over that fact."
Viktor didn't want anymore punk girls as lovers now that he had his strong Norwegian who was tough as nails and stubborn as a bull much like him. They were made for each other and Gloria could obviously see it. Everyone else could too. He gulped down some more vodka and wondered how she met her bloke.
"How did you and the bassist hook up? Was it at a Stardust concert?"
"I'm sure they will." She smirked and tried not to laugh. "I bet there will be some crying over you too."
She was beign complimentary but also teasing the punk as they drank together. She went over and sat on the bed next to him. Everyone who knew anything about the two would have agreed that they were meant for each other.
"It's complicated." Weren't all things though? "Ziggy and I have a mutual friend that mentioned his fear of hospitals and they introduced us. Ziggy invited me to join them on the tour and, the sneaky singer, set us up on a blind date."
He was right though that they had a similar temperament. It worked in the way Vars and Viktor worked. The personalities, wants and needs matched.
"Did you know you liked him when you met?" If they were going to drink and talk freely, that was a question she was curious about. While waiting she reached for the vodka bottle in his hand to refill her glass.
"He's afraid of hospitals? Don't blame him. Those things make me nervous and I'd only want to steal all the spirits from the cupboard to make firebombs with anyway. I take care of my own wounds out on the streets and always have done. Fuck hospitals."
That was Viktor's view of them anyway. Nothing would change anytime soon even with Gloria being the bands' nurse and medic. He just hated doctors wanting to stick things into you and pump you will pills and shit. The punk would rather deal with the pain alone and do his own first aid.
"Ziggy set you up on a blind date? That's decent of him. Stardust is a good bloke and Ronno is lucky to have him. Or her? I'm a bit confused but I think everyone calls him a bloke even if he's a girl."
Viktor shrugged. The same could be said for Aarne but Viktor knew Joe called his Fin a he. As for Vars? He was definitely a masculine male who was smoking hot with strong muscled arms. The Brit liked these.
"I don't know. Vars was strong I knew that much. Fucking good at smashing tables and punching. I liked that. We fought and I knew we were good for each other. Something like that."
She giggled at his stubborn attitude. "Good thing I'm more bullheaded than even you are."
It was said in good nature and a joke on her own life where she was always told her stubbornness was unlady-like.
"I didn't know what to expect really but I'm glad he did." Gloria doesn't mind explaining what is going on. "Well, Ziggy uses he but he likes to be called girlfriend or sister. I think it suits how he looks."
She had noticed that blended tendencies with several of the band and found it interesting and refreshing. Here, the rules of what was right for a man or a woman were blurred. That put Gloria at ease. She's really curious about the punks and their behavior.
"You value his strength most?" It's not that she wants to pry but openly curious. "I can understand that attraction."
"Makes sense. I've heard Ronno call him mate and love which confused me first of all. If they're happy then good for them. Vars I call Spiky since he's got hair like a fucking hedgehog. It suits him though."
Viktor liked the Norwegian's hair and had first called him Spiky when he first met him. The name just stuck. Swallowing down some more vodka the punk nodded. Vars was strong and this was the main draw for the singer. That and his aggressiveness and dominance.
"Yeah. He's strong as a bull and he can kick the shit out of anyone if he wanted to. This is something I like."
"I'm glad you found each other." She says seriously and pats his bicep. "You seem happier now than when we first met."
Downing her drink she smiles as she sets her glass aside. "I should let you rest but if anything bothers you let me know. I'll check on you before and after your shows too."
"Me too. I've just been dealing with shit in my life and Vars crashed landed on me. Literally."
In the best way possible of course. The way the punks bonded with their aggressiveness seemed almost alien to most but not to Viktor and Vars. This is how they loved each other and how punks bonded with one another through actions rather than words. The singer would have to endure pain but it would be worth it.
"Thanks for doing this, love. Weird is a lucky bloke to have you."
